Sur Resort, Diveagar is a contemporary hospitality project inspired by the natural beauty and relaxed character of the Konkan coastline. The design creates a warm and intimate resort environment where natural materials, traditional forms and modern comfort come together.
The interiors are defined by a carefully considered palette of natural wood, earthy plaster and woven textures, creating a tactile and understated atmosphere. These materials bring warmth to the spaces while establishing a strong visual connection with the natural landscape of Diveagar.
A distinctive feature of the room interiors is the use of arched niches and architectural openings, adding depth and character to the otherwise clean contemporary spaces. These curved elements soften the geometry of the interiors and introduce a subtle handcrafted quality.
The pitched timber ceilings become an important architectural feature, adding scale, warmth and visual richness to the rooms. Combined with carefully positioned soft lighting, the ceiling structure creates an intimate ambience that changes naturally throughout the day.
The material palette focuses on wood, earthy plaster, woven textures and natural finishes, reflecting the colours and textures of the Konkan region. The restrained palette allows the architectural forms and material details to remain the focus of the interior.
Natural textures are balanced with contemporary furniture and functional planning, creating spaces that feel refined without becoming overly formal.
Arched niches, pitched timber ceilings and carefully framed openings introduce a distinctive architectural identity to the resort rooms. These elements combine traditional influences with contemporary detailing, creating an interior that feels rooted in its location while maintaining a modern hospitality character.
The design of Sur Resort brings together contemporary hospitality design, natural materials and regional character to create a peaceful coastal retreat in Diveagar. Rather than relying on excessive decoration, the project uses materiality, proportion, texture, light and architectural detailing to establish a sense of understated luxury.
The result is a warm, sophisticated and intimate resort environment that reflects the relaxed spirit of the Konkan coast while offering guests a contemporary and comfortable experience.
